I have just discovered a gorgeous brand : Comtesse Sofia. I really love Russian style, that, through tsarism, USSR, XXIst century, remains (almost ) the same : it is feminine, proud of its Russian folklore, modern – beautiful.
I particularly love Russian shawls. First, in the XVIII and XIXth centuries, they were made of Tibetan goat wool, but the lack of this material made Russian women choose sheep wool… Russian scarfs combine utility (the cold !!!) and aesthetic : colorful patterns decorate the dark -or white- wool.
This new brand is named after the Comtesse de Ségur, whose name was Sofia… Born in Moscow, the Comtesse de Ségur will always remind me my young(er) days… With her stories inspired by her childhood.
The Comtesse Sofia’s shawls are made in Russia, near Moscow. Alexandra Rousselot, whose grandmother was from Siberia, is the co-founder of the brand. She knew how to offer the Russian style in an emblematic accessory : the scarf. They’re sold yet in France here and in the brand’s Ile Saint Louis’ store in Paris. Is there anything more beautiful to adorn a little black dress, or a casual outfit ? And to feel, in the Parisian greyness, some Russian spirit ?
